The A.I.R is about making a maneuverable board fast and plane up quick, then making it turn on a hyper compact outline and its forward vee instead of its rocker.

THE RANGE
83, 93, 103: with such a short tail, the bat-shape tail outline allows us to maximise fin grip, avoid cavitation while keeping the area behind the fins floaty and as short as possible, all in the goal to maximise reactivity and maneuverability. The thruster set up was chosen for its combination of speed and maneuverability. The double concave bottom adds grip in the turns and the spiralling forward vee creates a power-steering effect when you engage the rails into a turn.

FIN SET-UP
Out of the box, the thruster set up was chosen for its combination of speed and maneuverability.
The A.I.R 93 and 103 use a Drake Rush fin that generates more drive and traction while remaining maneuverable.
The A.I.R 79 and 83 have a Stone Surf centre fin to emphasise the waveriding maneuverability at a slight expense in drive and traction.
STARBOX
The A.I.R 83, 93, 103 comes with two lightweight StarBoxes and one US box, and plugs to close off any unused boxes. The A.I.R 79 comes with four lightweight StarBoxes and one US box, giving you the option to ride as Thruster or Quad.
The Starbox system allows you to fit Slot Box fins in five seconds each while remembering your last setting to get you on the water faster. It is also compatible with US box fins.
SLOT AND US BOX?
TAIL SHAPE
83, 93, 103 have a Bat Tail shape outline which prevents fin cavitation and improves fin grip while allowing for a short outline which in turn promotes reactivity and maneuverability.
79 has a tomo tail to keep the board more parallel and shorter. Length is eliminated so the outline and tail compensate for the drive lost from the shorter length of tail. It goes faster from less curve and there’s less resistance to turning.
ROCKERLINE
The rocker is pretty flat between the straps to the mast base area with a slight tail kick. This provides early planing and higher top end speed. The tail kick allows a very predictable bottom turn concentrating the pressure on the back foot. The board has a lot of V under the mast track to the tail, which gives an easy transition rail to rail. This together with the volume distribution and its short length, makes this board an extremely easy all round, wave and bump and jump board. The lower one shows the A.I.R 79.
BOTTOM SHAPES
The A.I.R 83, 93 and 103 features a double concave bottom combined with a spiraling Vee. The double concave bottom helps to add grip in the turns and comfort in choppy conditions while the forward Vee creates a power steering effect when engaging into turns.

“The challenge was to create a super short sailboard for getting the most out of less than ideal wave conditions. I used some of the latest trends in surfboard design and combined it with what l had learnt in my previous sailboard models. Coming up with the original “Stealth” at 197cm, l rode this board for two seasons back in 2013. It received a lot of attention after Jaeger took it to Gnaraloo the same year. The problem was the look. It scared almost everyone, so l softened it down and created a design that has now won an Australian Wavesailing Title, numerous Lancelin Ocean Classic Wave Titles and dominated heats on the PWA Wave world Tour when conditions were mushier and softer. It’s totally functional as a quad or thruster and proven in light or heavy conditions. This board is the new A.I.R.” Mark Stone, Designer, shaper.
YULEX FOOTSTRAPS AND THICK PADS
The new generation Drake footstraps are made with FSC-certified, sustainably sourced and plant-based Yulex foam. With 85% natural rubber content, CO² emitted during the manufacturing process is reduced by 80%. The remaining 15% of synthetic neoprene is kept to improve UV resistance.
Carefully sourced with the smoothest fabric for a comfortable feel.
The A.I.R feature 10mm thick footpads with a diamond grooving pattern that provides grip and comfort over extended sessions while being resistant to wear-and-tear.
OUR MOST INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
The A.I.R are available in our new construction designed for the lightest weight but also the lowest carbon footprint; Flax Balsa.Natural end-grain balsa covers the bottom of the board, providing the board with its overall stiffness and reduced weight. The full sandwich deck uses natural uni-directional flax fibres with carbon stripes to reinforce and stiffen the most stressed sections. A full-perimeter Carbon-Innegra rail band adds extra strength.
