THE NEW FOIL X 145

This new innovative concept blends an ultra-compact shape with an extra thick profile. It’s hyper maneuverable and reactive, yet even progressing windsurfers stepping off a GO will be ready for the X 145. From just 6 knots of wind, you’ll find yourself flying across the water on a board that fits in the back of a car, powered by a sail between 3.7m2 to 8.0m2.
With plenty of float, the X 145 is stable before take off. It’s long flat bottom and ultra compact outline then makes it quick to pop out of the water and take off.
Paired with Starboard’s SuperCruiser foil, learn and float your way through foil jibes at speeds lower than you thought possible, making maneuvers and 360s easier than you could ever imagine.
FREEDOM, WEIGHTLESSNESS AND STYLE
As the wind picks up, from 15 to 25 knots or more, you switch to smaller sails, say between 3.0 and 4.7 and a whole new world opens up with a foiling style that is all about freedom, weightlessness and style.
The Foil Box is larger and stronger than a normal fin box to distribute loads over a larger area. It is built using solid sheets of 20 mm thick high-density PVC with 8 mm thick carbon fibre walls, and has a flat, parallel bottom which allows the box to take both types of foil bases: tapered ‘Tuttle-style’ base and rectangular foil bases.
In either case, it is strongly recommended for the front of the foil’s base to reach the bottom of the box. This ensures that the vertical lifting load from the foil will be carried by both the front wall of the box and the bottom wall of the box.
MOST INNOVATIVE CONSTRUCTION
The Foil X and Foil Freeride are available in our Flax Balsa construction. Natural end-grain balsa covers the bottom of the board, providing the board with its overall stiffness and reduced weight. The full sandwich deck uses natural uni-directional flax fibres and carbon stripes to reinforce and stiffen the most stressed sections.
